PILIPJEV (1934), THORHE (1935), MOORE (1955) and WELCH (1958). JAHET (1893) was the first who studied the association of nematodes with the beetle Ocnera hispida Porsk ., (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae). PUCHS (1915) called attention to the fact that the moist frass of mines produced by Ips typographus L. and Hylobius abietis L. was inhabited by large number of specific nemic fauna, the members of which were in more or less close symbiotic relationship with the beetles. He also observed that certain nemas were carried out by beetles either under the wings or in some other ways . The recent works of nematode association with insects through the period 1960-1968 were discussed by MASSEY (i960), WALLACE (1961), WAHAB (1962), GOODEY (I963), WELCH (1962), ROSTOM (1966) and ALI et al. (1972). The soil nematode genera Diplogaster , Rhabdit is , Pelodera , Mesorhabditis and Panagrolaimus , including species of known association with insects, were reported in OTEIPA's (1964) work. Material and Methods The various insect species were collected in different areas (the farm of the Agriculture College at Mosttord, Abu-Rawash and Giza) and on different dates during the period extending from 1965 till the end of 1967. The habitat of the insects varied greatly. Certain insects live in the soil sub surface or dwell in heaps of organic manure, either as adults or immature stages . Methods have already been described by ALI et al. (1972). Abbreviations of nematode description: AN = Anus: CR = corpus: CA = caudal alae (bursa): EBE = end bulb of esophagus: CP = caudal papilla: GUB - gubernaculum: INT = intestine: LI = lip: MPS = median pseudobulb: NR = nerve ring: CV = ovary: PR - prostome: R = rectum: SPI = spicules: TE = telostome: UT = uterus: VEB = valve of esophagus end-bulb: VU = vulva
