Matured worms(measuring about 40 mm) with 80-110 segments. Number of cervical segments 30-32. Number of young hermaphroditic segments (not containing eggs) 30-50. Number of mature segments (containing ripe eggs) 20-30. Male reproductive system: Number of testes 40-60 per segment, situated in medullary parenchyme to right and left from female reproductive system, in 3-4 rows, diameter 40-68 yu. Cirrus sac round, maximum diameter 80 yu, in young segments 60 yu. Vas deferens in lumen of cirrus sac whorled, length of cirrus 40 /u, semicircular. Genital atrium in median line of dorsal surface of segment . Female reproductive system: Ovary of a tubular structure, resembling a finger-biscuit or slightly lobate, transversally occupying half of medullary parenchyme (Fig. 11). Ovary at posterior border of segment ,bilaterally arcuate anteriorad. 200-300x 50 yu , together with lateral thickenings. A slightly diffuse shell gland parallel with ovary, measuring 80-120x10-20 yu. Vagina sinuous, in midline of segment, from ovary towards genital atrium, its wall strongly muscular. Uterus sinuous to right and left from midline, terminating in uterus sac irregularly alternating at right or left side of segment. Eggs appearing from uterus sac through a slightly oval tocostoma (Fig. 11), opening on ventral surface of anterior quarter of segment . Diameter of uterus tube 40-50 /U, diameter of uterus sac 300-460 ii t that of tocostoma 35-40 u. Vitellary glands forming a homogenous layer in cortical parenchyme, about 500 per segment, diameter 25 yu. Eggs oval, provided with an operculum, measuring 49-54x35-40 yu. At oviposition eggs striated to a certain extent. In the publication of B. phoxini Molnár, 1968, the caption on the designation of the type-specimens has been inadvertently omitted during printing.
