Studies on the Parasite Fauna of Fish in Hungary V. Parasitic Copepods Dr. Jenő PÓNYI — Dr. Kálmán MOLNÁR Biological Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Tihany and Veterinary Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest No comprehensive paper has yet been published on crustacean species parasitising fish in Hungary, although the distribution of some parasitic crustaceans ( Ergasilus sieboldi , Arguius fo liaceus ), and to some extent their biology in a given habitat, have already been discussed by a number of authors (DADAY, 1896, 1897; MARGÓ, 1879; VUTSKITS, 1904a,b, 1908, 1914; KELLER, 1909;. NADAY, 1914). Subsequently, IV AN PI (1926), by experimental investigations, and GEYER (1939a, b, c, 1940), DULICH (1939), and JACZÓ (1941, 1950), by rather detailed observations, have further added to our knowledge of parasitic Crustacea. In the present paper, we have also taken into consideration JACZÓ' s (196I) lecture, as yet unpublished, on crustacean parasites in Hungary; his kindness in making available his manuscript for our purposes is appreciated. In this work, the author records the occurrence in Hungary of 12 species, belonging to 4 orders, as follows: Ergasilus sieboldi , Paraergasllus rylovi , Dichelesthium oblongum , Lamproglena pulchella , Lernaea cyprina- cea , L. esocina , Achteres percarum , Basaniastes huchonis , Sal- mincola salmonea , Pseudotracheliastes stellatus , Tracheliastes maculatus , T. polycolpus .
