He gave his best to advance veterinary sciences and education and was an active collaborator of the faculty staff to the very end of his life. He worked untiringly also in public affairs and social movements. He was a member of numerous national and foreign scientific and social bodies,the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Society of Natural Sciences, the National Council of Animal Health, the Red Cross Society, the Académie d'Agriculture in Turin, the Societée International de la Tuberculose, the Societée Centrale de Medicine Vétérinaire, the Societée Zoologique de Prance, the Berliner Tierärztl. Gesellschaft, etc. He was decorated with the Officer's Cross of the Pour le Mérite Agricole, and received the order of Tankova, and several other distinctions. His zealous and unyielding devotion to work undermined his health. Even when sick, he worked until utterly fatigued.
