<Ф MŰHELY ф> Acta Papensia XVI (2016) 1-2. szám Summary IVÁN PETRIK The Genealogy of the family Jári and their estates in the Middle Ages The archivist-historian author working in the archive in Pápa describes the genealogy and estate policy of the gentry Jári family owning the middle-sized estate called Jár in Veszprém county on the basis of specialist literature and documents published and non-published in the 13-15Ü1 centuries. Members of the Jári family, descendants of the Jolát royal senior civil servant, successfully increased the amount of their properties by serving noblemen, making good marriage contracts, by purchasing fields and also with force in consequence of which they became significant proprietors in the West-Transdanubia region. They also had properties in Slavonia in the 15th century. The family died out at the end of the 15th century, their properties were acquired by the family Sitkéi with heiress of female line. The king recognized the properties of the family Sitkéi by giving them new deed of gift (1512). The study gives a detailed picture of the descendance of the family, the relationships, the career of the members of the family, the history of the properties.
