Repairing a book from the 16th century Geneva kept in the library of the Reformed Collections of Pápa

The author works as a book and paper repairer for the Archives of Veszprém County. In her essay, she introduces the repairing process of a dogmatic work published in Geneva in 1588 entitled Ad acta colloquii Montisbelgardensis written by a Swiss Calvinistic theologian named Theodorus Beza (1519-1605). The valuable and in Hungary rare, leather-bound, German renaissance-type book is kept in the library of the Reformed Collections of Pápa, and because of its damage and bad condition it required a total repairing. The repairer repaired the damaged book, fixed the loose pages, and completed the defective edges. During her work, she tried to do the least possible intervention, to maintain the original technics, and to reconstruct the deficiences in a faithful way. Each step of the 140 hour long work has been proved by photos and notes of experience.
