Forrásközlés JÓZSEF KÖBLÖS Liber legum coetus Papensis New research works relative to the first law book of tbe Pápa Reformed College One of the most valuable pieces of our Collection is the oldest law book of the Reformed College of Pápa, which contains the laws drafted by Péter Hollósi, Rector of the College, in 1585. Its date of origin has been argued among scholars. Since we are going to publish the list of the students' names in the law book, a correct definition of origin has become necessary. Following a preface, the volume contains a set of vow examples and then in the first part of College laws general (pertaining to every one), in the sec- ond part special (relative to officers) regulations can be read. A closing sec- tion concludes the book. The laws are followed by the signatures of students from 1585-1752, and then from 1785-1791. The volume is not an original law book, but it is a copy in which the names were copied from the original book from time to time. When the old law book was replaced with a new one and students discontinued to sign their names in the old one, this copy lost its original function. Later documents of headmasters and assistants were copied here between 1798-1803. Scholars could distingish the 1585 layer of the text from the additions during the 17th Century and at the beginning of the 18th Century. Through examining the outlook of the texts, the author tries to define the periods of copyings. According to him, the copyings of the laws and lists were made by története 1531-1931. Pápa, 1931.
