ME (Minister President) decree. They took over the local political control, mobilized reconstruction. Their public administration authority was wound up after restoration of local organizations ot public administration, local representative boards, and establishment of municipal boards. Their members were from the representatives of the democratic parties. As the state power became consolidated, after 1948 their role was gradually decreasing, then they were discontinued by a decree issued in 1949. Their duties were taken over by the adequate organizations of the Hungarian Independent Popular Front. There are the documents of national committees of 93 of Pest County settlements stored in the Pest County Archives, besides the documents of the county national committee and some district and town committees that are really incomplete.
