From the history of Pest County

fc. 1 A Wathay család címereslerele (1580) Wappenbrief der Familie Wathay (1580) Eseutcheoned letter of the Wathay family (1580) surrounding counties had started applying for their villages to be joined to Pest or Pilis County in the 15 th century. The borderline of the two counties has become permanent by the end of the 15 th century. On the Csepel Island, called Nagy (Great) Island in the Middle Ages, was also formed a Lieutenancy similar to the Pilis Forest Lieutenancy belonging to the Royal Estate in order to regulate people's lives there. This Lieutenancy had survived as an independent lieutenancy unit till the end of the Middle Ages. The exact date of termination of this independent lieutenancy is not known but it probably happened at the end of reign of Mátyás Hunyadi, the greater part of the Royal Estate being joined to Pest County, while the smaller one to Fejér County. Life of the Solt part of Fejér County was different from the usual. This county, similarly to Pest County, was one lying on the two banks of River Danube. The left bank was governed from Solt. In the second part of the 15 th century the Solt headquarters separated from the county but kept its old name. 14S
