Módszertani Központ kiadványai" (Publications of the Centre of Library Science and Methods) a new series has been launched on the mechanization of library equipments. A guide has been compiled for the comparison of the old and new tables of the UDC and for the compilation of subject catalogues. For special librarians qualifications of medium degree are granted on 2*4 year training courses, the training has been promoted by a programme, lecture notes and text-books. (This year the number of students ran to 356.) On the extension courses the establishment of the informational system in connection with the new economic mechanism, the development of readers and reference service and the new working methods in children libraries were treated. Besides editing periodicals of information and documentation, our institution set up the whole system of tracing the literature in this field, acquired after 1965 and published in limited number, a Hungarian-English subject-word index was also compiled. In the Express Information 7200 items were included. Translations of the special literature on library science have continuously been made, subject word and alphabetical catalogues of the translations have been published and the special library of the institution has been developed. 54
