Structural colours in Cyanophrys (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) 77 speciation can easily take place with the appearance of a new pre-mating barrier based on colour signals. Some evidence for how nanostructural changes are developed in polyommatine lycaenids of open habitats does exist (BÍRÓ et al. 2003, LUKHTANOV et al. 2005).
