Review ofpaleonotogical types in the HNHM 19 fish, part and counterpart was placed in two different drawers within the Tertiary fish col­lection. There may be one more twist awaiting in the story of this specimen: a revision might prove it to be neither an echinoid spine, nor part of a fish, as some curators now suggest. Figs 8-14.
