Papp, L.: Afrotropical species of the genus Diplochasma, subgenus Sauteromyia (Diptera: Lauxaniidae)
Mouth edge narrowly cmarginated sagittally. Ocellar pair of setae 0.11 mm, postocellars 0.085 mm. First flagellomere rounded apically. Aristal cilia shorter than 0.015 mm, cilia of first flagellomere 0.02 mm. Anepisternum with 13-15 short setae. Prescutellar pair 0.175 mm (holotype). Wing membrane light brownish. Veins C, Sc, Rj yellow, A] lighter brown, A 2 hardly discernible, R 2+3 , R4-1-5, M and basal veins darker brown. Cell c with 3-4 less dark longish brown spots (Fig. 31), both r 2+3 and r 4+5 with 3 round darker brown spots, also m and cu cells with diffuse light brown hue, which is discernible on the light brownish membrane. Cross-veins brown bordered. Stronger costal fringe distally to apex of R 2+3 consists of 4-5 thicker black setae on proximal 0.20 of costal section. Distal section of vein M 1.07 mm, slightly curved towards R^, apical part straight, intra-crossvein section 0.84, ratio 1.276, dM-Cu 0.375 mm. Legs dirty yellow, apical tarsomeres not darker. Mid femur anteriorly with some diffuse brown hue. Dorsal preapical seta of fore tibia 0.11 mm (holotype). Ventral spur of hind tibia curved not longer than 0.05 mm. Male genitalia (Figs 15-16) with short epandrium. Epandrium higher than broad, ventrally rounded, without any trace of surstylar lobe. Cerci normal, their setosity comparatively short. Parameres (Figs 15-16) long with broad base, apical part definitely recurved; basal medial part less sclerotised than in other species. Apex of aedeagal apodeme very narrow, apodeme rather short, compared to length of parameres. Discussion - D. (S.)punctata sp. n. keys out to couplet 5 in the key above. It is an easily recognisable species: its wing pattern alone seems enough to secure a safe identification. In addition, its yellow palpi, very short aristal pilosity, as well as details of male genitalia separate it from D. (S.) occidentalis andD. (S.) variegata. Etymology - The specific epithet refers to its numerous dark spots of wing. Diplochasma (Sauteromyia) shewelli sp. n. (Figs 17-19, 32) Type material - Holotype male: Uganda Katona [K. Kittenberger] - Mujenje 1913. IX. (HNHM). Description - Measurements in mm: body length 3.13 (holotype), wing length 3.02, wing width: 1.125. Colour: body yellow, acrostichal stripes of mesonotum rather faint. Head comparatively large, distance of anterior fronto-orbital to lunule much more than distance of anterior and posterior fronto-orbitals. Orbital plates broad, greyish yellow with silvery microtomentum. There are numerous short, proclinate orbital setae cranially to posterior fronto-orbitals setae, leaving bare only a 0.06 mm wide sagittal line. Ocellar seta 0.11 mm, postocellars slightly shorter, 0.10 mm. Anterior fronto-orbital 0.165 mm,
