Papp, L.: Afrotropical species of the genus Diplochasma, subgenus Sauteromyia (Diptera: Lauxaniidae)

Male genitalia (Figs 5-6) with epandrium much higher than broad (Fig. 6). Epandrium short dorsally, much longer and widely rounded ventrally (Fig. 5), without any trace of surstylar lobe. Cerci rather high. Parameres comparatively long (Fig. 6), in profile slightly S-curved, apex blunt and slightly broadened. Aedeagal apodeme not broadened basally. Discussion - D. (S.) aphanio signât a sp. n. keys out to couplet 7 in our key above. The characters of the body allow a safe separation from D. (S.) shewelli sp. n., which is a related species indeed. In addition, male genitalia distinctly different: epandrium much higher than broad, parameres slightly shorter and definitely broader in profile, and their apex is broadened apically. Etymology -The specific epithet refers to its faint spots on the wing. Figs 5-6. Diplochasma (Sauteromyia) aphaniosignata sp. n., male paratype: 5 = genitalia, lateral view; 6 = parameres with contour of epandrium, anterior view. Scale bar: 0.2 mm for both
