Verdcourt, B.: Pseudoglessula (Echinoglessula) echinophora subgen. et sp. n. (Mollusca, Pulmonata: Subulinidae) from Ghana
Notes - Ecological information is given by ENDRŐDY-YOUNGA ( 1970: 29) as follows: "Kibi: Central region N.6.10, W. 0.34, Alt.: 900 ft (274 m). Semideciduous forest zone. On both sides of the Bunsu-Accra road the mountainous ranges rise to quite considerable heights. In some valleys of the Atewa range (north-west of the road), in rainforest conditions, there are hidden groups of fern trees (Cyathea camerooniana HOOKER, and C. manniana HOOKER). The sifted material of Kibi comes from the dark and very moist biotope of such fern tree group, the decaying leaves of the trees having been sifted." There is an analogy between the sculpture of this new species and the totally unrelated Trochozonites hystrix D'AlLLY, 1896 from the Cameroon (D'AlLLY 1896). The positioning of the main spines is very similar. Acknowledgements -1 wish to thank Dr ZOLTÁN FEHÉR (HNHM) for the loan of the material, Mrs DIÁNA BODROGKÖZI (HNHM) for sorting and preparing the specimens, Mrs RUTH MÜLLER (Transvaal Museum, Pretoria) for finding the late S. ENDRŐDY-YOUNGA's diary and for providing some unpublished locality data, and Dr GÁBOR KULCSÁR (Budapest) for kindly transporting material between Budapest and London.
