ANNALES HISTORICO-NATURALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGARICI Volume 97 Budapest, 2005 pp. 163-195. Eleven new Eubazus Nees species from the Neotropical Region (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Brachistinae) J. PAPP Department of Zoology, Hungarian Natural History Museum H-1088 Budapest, Baross utca 13, Hungary Abstract - A short critical review over the five Eubazus species known from the Neotropical Region. ENDERLEIN' s two species (Eubadizon columbianum and E. tibiale) belong to the genus Orgilus HALIDAY. Each species by ASHMEAD {Calyptus thoracicus), CRESSON (Calyptus mexicanus) and SCHROTTKY (Allodorus venturii) are representatives of the genus Eubazus. From Central and South America eleven new Eubazus species are described, all are assigned, except E. (Allodorus) debilis sp. n. (Costa Rica, Honduras), to the subgenus Brachistes WESMAEL, 1835: E. (Brachistes) albicoxa sp. n. (Honduras), E. (Brachistes) atricornis sp. n. (Argentina), E. (Brachistes) discrepans sp. n. (Brazil), E. (Brachistes) eminens sp. n. (Honduras), E. (Brachistes) frater sp. n. (Uruguay), E. (Brachistes) longitempora sp. n. (Colombia), E. (Brachistes) rugulosus sp. n. (Honduras), E. (Brachistes) teres sp. n. (Argentina, Costa Rica), E. (Brachistes) topali sp. n. (Argentina) and E. (Brachistes) tumorulus sp. n. (Mexico). Redescriptions of Eubazus (Allodorus) mexicanus (CRESSON) and E. (Allodorus) thoracicus (ASHMEAD) are presented. A key was compiled for the 14 Eubazus species distributed in the Neotropical Region. With 153 figures. Key words - Eubazus, Neotropics, new species. INTRODUCTION From the Neotropical Region, respectively from Mexico, the first Eubazus species was described by CRESSON (1872) under the name Calyptus mexicanus. Subsequently and up to 1912, further four species were described from Central and South America originally under the generic names Allodorus, Calyptus and Eubadizon, the five species are as follows: Allodorus venturii SCHROTTKY, 1902 - Argentina Calyptus mexicanus CRESSON, 1872 - Mexico Calyptus thoracicus ASHMEAD, 1896 - Saint Vincent Island Eubadizon columbianum ENDERLEIN, 1912 - Colombia Eubadizon tibiale ENDERLEIN, 1912 - Belize (till 1973 British Honduras) = Eubazus tibialende SHENEFELT, 1970
