sample plot (i.e. did not correspond to the ideal quadrat) and first of all quadrats situated in the center of the sample plot were the most comparable to the ideal quadrat. Using the data of quadrats at a distance of a couple of meter from each other completely different flora and vegetation may be reconstructed. The species composition of the spring quadrats is more equalized than that of the autumn quadrats, however, it differs generally from the "ideal composition" to a higher degree which may be attributed to the fragmentation, decay and transport (by the wind) of the leaves. The pattern showed by the analysis of the "combined data set" is characteristic of areas with vegetation of high ß-diversity, i.e. areas with quickly changing diFigs 16-17. The diagrams indicate the species composition of the quadrats set by 18th and 1875th m (in autumn and spring) in the second sample plot. The circle of 10 m radius around the quadrats is also showed in order to demonstrate the extent to which taxa inside the circle were represented in the quadrats. Bold numbers indicates those trees/shrubs the leaves/fruits of which were recorded in the quadrats
