with convex anterior edge between mesocoxae and subflattcned in distal half. Hypopygium with very widely rounded apex. Protibia slightly narrower than antenna! club and finely crenulate; metatibia as wide as antennái club and mcsotibia markedly wider; outer edge of meso- and metatibiae with a dense row of very short and moderately thin setae. Femora of usual shape, about twice as wide as antennái club. Protarsus 3/5 as wide as protibia, but meso- and metatarsi much narrower, claws simple. Aedeagus moderately sclerotized. Armature of inner sac of penis well raised. Femcde - Differs from male only in 3-segmented and compact antennái club as well as slightly narrower protarsi. Ovipositor slightly sclerotized. Variability - Length 1.6-2.1 mm. Some paratypes with elytra rather darkened along all edges (including along suture), but abdomen sometimes slightly paler than remainder of body. Most males have more distinctly oblique elytral apices, but females are with more widely rounded those. A small variability is observed in puncUition. Diagnosis-This new species is most similar to P. brevicornisCOOPER, 1982, but quite distinct due to its less robust body, 4-segmented antennái club, longer suturai lines, longer mentum, subparallesided median part of prosternai process and genitalia of both sexes. Besides, this new species is also similar to P. adusta, but differs from the latter in more robust body with shorter elytra widely and separately rounded at apices, its median part of prosternai process subparallelsided and not subacute at apex. Etymology - The name of this new species is formed from the name of the country. Pria magna REITTER, 1872 Pria magna REUTER, 1 872 ? P. pectinicomis COOPER, 1982 Specimens examined- Republic of South Africa: lectotype (ZMB, see KIREJTSHUK 1996); 1 (ZMB) - "R.S.Africa, 28.ÍV-1 .V. 1995, 34°1 l'S/24°29'E, Cape Province, Tsitsikamma Forest, Coastal National Park, U. Notes - This species in contrast to P. concolor and P. crassa (see above) has a more slender body, dense punctation and more elongate antennái club (particularly in males). The males from Fish Hoek show some variability in antennái club, involving 4 or 5 last antennomeres. Finally, elongate antennái club in males and females is very characteristic feature of this species.
