cies has a clearly visible incisure on the posteromarginal part of the notogaster and its porose areas Aa and A3 smaller than in the new species. Pilogalumna saboorii sp. n. (Figs 6-7) Measurements - Length of body: 372-395 urn, width of body: 263-270 um. Description - Prodorsum: Rostrum simple, rounded in dorsal view. Sublamellar lines (S) well developed, slightly dilated distally, arching downwards (Fig. 6). Among the prodorsal setae great differences exist, rostral and lamellar setae simple, short, equal in length, interlamellar setae much longer and thicker. The preceding two pairs smooth, the interlalmellar ones well ciliated. Sensillus setiform, long, curved medially, directed outwards, well ciliate. Cilia long and exclinate from the peduncle of the sensillus. Scjugal porose areas (Asej) elongated transversally, guttiform. Notogaster: Dorsosejugal suture complete, slightly concave medially. The dorsosejugal structure hy wide. Notogaster smooth, the pteromorphae with comparatively dense and strong radiate lines (crests). Ten pairs of well visible notogastral setae and four pairs of porose areas present. Among the latter, porose areas Aa much larger than the others, all - excepting the elongated A , - nearly round. Lyrifissures im located characteristically medially, behind setae da. Lateral part of prodorsum: It was unsuitable for study. Ventral regions: Epimeral surface poorly ornamented, only a few sigilla visible. Epimeral setal formula 1-0-2-1. Anogenital setal formula: 6-1-2-3. Only one pair of setae located on the genital plates, others arising behind it in one row. Legs: All legs tridactylous. Solenidia to, and co 2 arising in a transversal line, s in front of them (Fig. 7). Material examined - Holotype: Abarkouh, Yazd province (center of Iran). It was collected from soil of Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon). 16. VIII. 1999. (1652-HO-01), Paratype: 1 ex., same locality, from soil of camel's thorn (Athagi sp.). 9. VIII. 1999. Holotype (1652-HO-01) and paratype (1652-PO-01) deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, with identification numbers of the specimens in the Collection of Arachnida. Derivatio nominis - We dedicate the new species Dr. ALIREZA SABOORI, the well known acarologist of Iran. Remarks - The systematic position of the new species is rather problematic, because the presence of the sublamellar lines and the form of the porose areas are not typical for the genus Pilogalumna GRANDJEAN, 1956. However, its assignment to any other genera would also be uncertain, therefore we place it tentatively in this genus. The new species is well characterised by the form of the sensillus and the long and strong interlamellar seta. So, the new species is well distinguishable from all heretofore known species bearing setae on the notogaster.
