Makhan, D.: Three new genera and two new species of Hydrochidae from different parts of the World (Coleoptera)
Etymology. This species is named after my son AMRISH MAKHAN. Remarks. This species is very similar to Deepakius albicans (RÉG I M BART) from Central Africa, but there is a difference in the shape of male genitalia. Apex of páraméra in D. amrishi sp. n. is narrow, wide in D. albicans (RÉGIMBART). Hydrochus albicans RÉGIMBART, 1906: 273. Type. Holotype in Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France. This specimen is from Kenya. Distribution. East Africa. Diagnosis. Male. Body elongate, length 2.6 mm, width 0.9 mm. Colour of head, pronotum, scutellum and elytra dark brown. Head and pronotum not metallic and not shiny. Elytra shiny and with blue-green metallic gloss and with large white striai punctures. Head with coarse punctures. Pronotum longer than wide, lateral area smooth, on disc with 10 deep depressions; 4 large and elongate depressions of them situated in the middle, 3 small suboval ones along each lateral side. , Elytra widest in the posterior third, lateral area smooth, striai punctures wider than insterstriae, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th interstriae narrow and convex, apical hole absent. Elytral apices broadened and rounded. Elytral length 1.6 mm. Male genitalia (Fig. 8): páraméra longer than basal piece, median lobe with long flagellum. Deepakius albicans (RÉGIMBART, 1906) comb. n.
