Diagnosis -Eusphaierum very similar to E. schoenmanni sp. n., distinct in yellowish (not black) metasternum, shape of aedeagus, and mainly of internal sac (Figs 23-24). Measurements of holotype - Width of head: 0.49 mm; length of head, from clypeus to neck: 0.29 mm; width of pronotum: 0.61 mm; length of pronotum: 0.42 mm; length of elytra, from shoulder to apex: 0.96 mm; width of elytra: 0.86 mm; length from clypeus to apex of elytra: 1.7; total length, with retracted abdomen: 2.0 mm. Derivatio nominis - Simillimus: "very similar" in latin (i.e. very similar to E. schoenmanni). Sexual dimorphism - Female entirely reddish yellow (abdomen included), middle tibiae straight, apex of elytra a little more prolonged (Figs 47-48). Variability - Size: 2.0-2.3 mm. One small male specimen with irregular surface of pronotum, median line without punctures and elevated. Remarks -E. simillimum sp. n. is so similar to E. schoenmanni sp. n. that a detailed description seems unnecessary. The differences in the median lobe of aedeagus as in Figs 19-20 and 23-24 may be artefacts caused by microscopical preparation. Only the internal sac is clearly different. Female specimens of E. simillimum have been identified only ex societate with males, and therefore they are not included in the series of paratypes. Distribution - It is known only from the type locality (Eastern Siberia, Maritime Province). Phenology and ecology - July and August. Ecology unknown. Eusphaierum prope poroshiriense WATANABE, 1990 (Figs 25-26) Eusphaierum poroshiriense WATANABE, 1990: 206. Material examined - Sakhalin Island, Dolinsk Distr., Sokol, 24.VII.1972, leg. I. SUKACHEVA, A. MlKHEEV, V ZSHERIKHIN, 2 males and 3 females (RYV Z). Remarks - Aedeagus: Figs 25-26. E. poroshiriense WATANABE was described from Hokkaido (Mt. Poroshiri-dake, Hidaka) and is known only from the type locality. The specimens from Sakhalin might belong to another closely related species. They differ in "lateral margin of pronotum more strongly emarginate in posterior half; median lobe of male genital organ more slender" (WATANABE, in litt.). I consider inadequate the available material for the description of a new species. Eusphaierum prope hidakanum WATANABE, 1990 (Figs 27-28) Eusphaierum hidakanum WATANABE, 1990: 216. Material examined - Kuril Isi., Kunashir, 2.VII.1985, leg. N. NIKITSKY, 1 male and 1 female (RYV, Z). Remarks - I believe that these specimens from Kunasir (the southest of Kuril Islands) are conspecific with E. hidakanum WATANABE from Hokkaido (Mt. Poroshiridake, Hidaka). According to WATANABE (in litt.), they are "similar in male genital organ, but differ in colour". The specimens from Kunasir resemble externally E. lapponicum (MANNH.), but are quite different in aedeagus, that has a very peculiar shape, mainly in parameres (Figs 27-28).
