SL, . . with punctures about twice larger than eye facets, irregularly scattered; punctation becoming a little denser posterad and rugose just anterior to apex; epipleura very broad at base then abruptly narrowed and parallel­sided toward apex. - Mesosternum weakly concave, coarsely and sparsely punctate; metasternum half as long as mesosternum, finely and sparsely punctate; 1st to 4th visible abdominal sternites with small scattered punctures mesally and much coarser ones laterally, 5th sternite coarsely and densely punctate. - Legs rather long and slender; femora not clavate, straight, finely and sparsely punctate; tibiae straight, about as long as femora, slightly widening toward apex, finely and densely punctate, ç Aedeagus with tegmen as in Fig. 5 and median lobe as in Fig. 6. - Length 9.5-11.3 mm. Female - Except for genitalia external features are not distinguishable from males. Holotype, male, labelled as follows: "NICARAGUA, Mat. 9 mi. SW. Matagalpa, 2200' VII-15-1974 C.W & L. O'Brien & Marshall"; "Holotypus o* Oxinthas nicaraguensis Merkl, 1992" [red]. - Paratypes, one male and 2 females, labelled as holotype, except paratype label.
