Fischer, O. ; Hably, L.: Pliocene flora from the alginite at Gérce
Description: The shape of the leaf is oblate. Its length is about 4.0 cm, breadth 5.0 cm. Margin is crenate, smoothly rounded, without a pointed apex. From the distinctly marked midvein a pair of basal veins runs near the base of the leaf. From the higher part of the midrib 4 pairs of secondary veins arch out. % U 1 m a c e a e Zelkova SPACH Zelkova zelkovaefoüa (UNGER) BÛZEK et KOTLÁBA, 1963 (Plate II: 1-3,5, Figs 19, 23) 1843 Ulmus zelkovaefoüa UNG.; UNGER, Plate 24, figs 9-13. 1856 Zelkova ungeri (ETT.) Description: Lenght of leaves 2.0-4.5 cm. breadth 1.0-2.3 cm. Their shape are ovate or elliptic with petiole. In some cases 2-3 leaves remained together on the branch. Base rounded, rarely acute, apex acute. Margin simple toothed. Teeth are big, their apical side is shorter than the basal one. Both sides are convex. Venation craspedodromous. 4-8 pairs of secondary veins arch out from the midrib and terminate in the apex of the teeth. Ulmus L. Ulmus ruszovensis HUMMEL, 1983 (Plate I: 2-7, Plate II: 4, Figs 12-15) 1983 Ulmus ruszovensis HUMMEL; HUMMEL, p. 58, Plate 36, figs l-5a; Plate 37, figs l-6a; Plate 38, figs l-4a. Material: No. 90. 1. 1.-90. 9. 2. and unnumbered specimens (20 specimens). Description: Length of leaves 2.2-4.3 cm, breadth 1.0-2.2 cm. Shape elongated ovate, rarely elliptic. Base always very asymmetrical, apex acute. Petiole 0.2-0.6 cm long. Margin toothed, teeth are simple, but in some cases, especially in the middle of the leaf compound. Venation craspedodromous, midrib strong. Secondary veins sometimes bifurcate at the middle of the lamina and terminate in the apex of the teeth. Between the secondaries a dense net work is formed. Ulmus sp. 1. (Plate V: 1, Fig. 18) Material: No. 90. 25.1. and unnumbered specimen (2 specimens). Description: Apico-medial remain of the leaf. Breadth of lamina is about 5 cm, apex and basis are missing. Margin toothed, teeth are compound. Venation craspedodromous, midrib strong. Secondary veins are issured from the midrib at 0.3-0.4 cm distance from each other, and terminate in the apex of teeth. Some veins are branching out from the secondary veins near to the margin and terminate in the side teeth.
