more than twice as long as POL, Malar space about one-third longer than basal width of mandible. Temple in lateral view somewhat broadening ventrally, its greatest width behind eye equal with width of eye. In frontal view face 2.5 times as wide as eye. Head polished. Occipito-temporal carina relatively strong and subcrenulated. -Antenna shorter than body, with 19 (right antenna) as well as 20 flagellomeres (left antenna). First flagellomere four times as long as broad, further flagellomeres shortening and indistinctly attenuating so that penultimate flagellomere 3.1 times as long as broad. - Mesosoma in lateral view 1.73 times as long as high. Pair of lateral lobes of mesonotum polished; median lobe anteriorly almost smooth and shiny with a medio-longitudinal sulcus, its posterior third between notaulices rurose; notaulix evenly deep and finery crenulated. Scutellum polished. Propodeum areolated as in A. pugnatus, see Fig. 8. - Fore femur four times as long as broad distalfy, fore tibia just longer than fore femur. Hind femur 4.54 times as long as distally broad, hind tibia clearly, i.e. 1.4 times as long as hind femur; hind basitarsus as long as tarsal segments 2-4 and half of 5th one. -Fore wing somewhat shorter than body. Pterostigma (Fig. 13) 4.16 times as long as wide, issuing radial vein distinctly proximally from its middle, rl 1.33 times as long as width of pterostigma, r2 1.56 times as long as rl and equal in length with cuqul, n. rte. postfurcal. - Carapace as long as head + mesosoma together. First tergite broadening posteriorly, 1.25 times as broad behind as long medially, paired keels slightly converging posteriorly and much nearer to each other than to sides of tergite (Fig. 14, see arrows); second tergite distinctly broadening posteriorly, 1.37 times as broad before its hind end as long medially, its hind width one-third greater than its basal width; third tergite transverse, just not twice wide basally than long medially, its hind margin moderately concave (Fig. 15). Tergites 1-3 striated, relatively wide interstriations rugulose subshiny to shiny. Ovipositor sheath two-thirds as long as hind tibia. Body uniformly brownish black. Antenna, tegula and legs yellow, palpi pale yellow. Wings subhyaline, pterostigma brownish with a yellowish basal spot. 6 and host unknown. Type material - Holotype 9 : India, Assam, Manamai, 1400 m at Cherrapunjee, 18 November 1967, leg. TOPÁL. - Holotype is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 7351. Etymology - The new species is dedicated to Dr. GYÖRGY TOPÁL, mammologist and my friend, a keen collector of insects. The new species is nearest to A. pugnatus sp. n. and A. lampas NlXON, for specific distinction see in the key for Aulosaphes species, p. ooo. KEY TO THE SPECIES OF AULOSAPHES MUESEBECK 1 (6) Pterostigma issuing radial vein from its middle or indistinctly posteriorly (Figs 3,20, 26). 2 (5) Malar space as long as or slightly shoter/longer than basal width of mandible (Fig. 18). In frontal view face 1.45-2 times as wide as eye (Fig. 17, see arrows). Ovipositor sheath shorter than hind tibia. Temple in dorsal view strongly rounded (Figs 1, 16). Body yellowish without black(ish) pattern on metasoma; legs whitish. 3 (4) Pterostigma wide, i.e. relatively less long, 3.3 times as long as wide; rl longer than r2 (Fig. 20). Two keels of first tergite near to each other, before their hind end distance between them as long as distance between a keel and side of tergite (Fig. 22, see arrows); second tergite broadest at its hind end, hind margin of third tergite subdenticulate, tergites 2-3 with uniform longitudinal striation (Fig. 22). Antenna with 20 flagellomeres. In dorsal view temole rounded (Fig. 16). Propodeum areolated as in Fig. 19. Ocellar field black. $ 1.6 mm. - Philippines (Manila). A. unicolor (ASHMEAD, 1905) 4 (3) Pterostigma less wide, i.e. relatively long, 4.2 times as long as wide; rl shorter than r2 (Fig. 3). Two keels of first tergite far from each other, before their hind and distance between them greater than distance between a keel and side of tergite (Fig. 4, see arrows); second tergite broadest at about its middle, hind margin of third tergite truncate, tergites 2-3 with longitudinal though not uniform striation (Fig. 4), third tergite posteriorly with weakening and (medially) disappearing striation. Antenna with 18 flagellomeres. in dorsal view temple somewhat less constricted (Fig. 1). Propodeum areolated as in Fig. 2. Ocellar field yellowish. 9 : 2 mm. - Yemea A. descrticola sp. n.
