Description: Length - Adult specimens are in vivo up to 22 mm, conserved specimens mostly smaller than 15-20 mm. Body shape - The body is elongate similar to G. palud osa . Adults have more or less parallel sides. The head is recognizably set up, compared to the rest of the body. Also the prostomium of G. paludosa is always well extended. Body surface - Papillae small or absent, developed only in the adults, the juveniles have a smooth dorsal surface. The dorsal tubercles are absent in the Danubian material, but they exist, though hardly recognizable in northern specimens. Figs 11-20.
