Mesosoma in lateral view 1.44 times as long as high. Notaulix distinct as a narrow and fairly shallow furrow; between notaulices a medio-longitudinal furrow extending on hind half of mesonotum. Prescutellar furrow smooth and shallow. Mesosoma polished. Lateral side of pronotum along its lower margin finely crenulated. Sternaulix linear and weakly subcrenulated . Mesopleuron above striato-uneven . Propodeum carinato-rugose , areolation more or less distinct, interspaces uneven to smooth, shiny (Fig. 40). - Hind femur 3.5 times as long as broad on its distal half (Fig. 41). Hind tibia and tarsus equal in length. Basitarsus just shorter than tarsal segments 2-4. Hind tibia with adpressed hairs. Fore wing as long as body. Pterostigma (Fig. 42) 3.36 times as long as wide, issuing radial vein proximal from its middle. Radial cell along metacarpal vein one-fourth shorter than pterostigma; r_l almost twice as long as r2 , r_3_ ending far before tip of wing, cuqul almost twice as long as r_l, n . rec . postfurcal. N . par . issuing from middle of brachial cell. Metasoma as long as mesosoma. First tergite (Fig. 43) just longer than broad at hind, up to spiracle broadening, beyond spiracle parallel-sided, spiracle anteriorly from middle. Second tergite 2.65 times as wide behind as long medially, third tergite somewhat shorter than second tergite. First tergite smooth and shiny, further tergites polished except pale yellow median field of tergites 2-4 which is uneven. Ovipositor sheath as long as hind tarsal segments 1-2. Ground colour of body black. Maxilla, mandible and oral opening (or labrum) yellowish. Basal 4-5 antennomeres yellowish, further antennomeres darkening to blackish. Tegula and first tergite yellow. Legs, median field of tergites 2-4 and sternites 1-3 whitish yellow. Wings hyaline, pterostigma and veins opaque yellow. Description of the female paratypes (3 go) - Similar to the holotype. Body 2-2.1 mm long. Head in dorsal view 1.7-1.8 times as broad as long. Antenna with 21-23 (21: 1 Q, 22: 1 g, 23: 1 g) antennomeres, first flagellomere 2.2-2.7 times and penultimate flagellomere 2.3-2.4 times as long as broad. Precoxal suture either fully smooth (2 gg) or weakly subcrenulated (1 Q) . Propodeum distinctly areolated (1 g) or as in holotype. Hind femur 3.3-3.5 times as long as broad distally. Ground colour of body black with a little (1 g) or much (1 g) brownish yellow suffusion on mesosoma; light colour of tergites and legs yellow (1 o) . Description of the male paratypes(2 d*d*) Similar to female. Antenna with 20-21 antennomeres. Yellow(ish) pattern of body less vivid, hind tibia and tarsus infuscate. Type material - I. Hungary: 1. Holotype g + 1 g paratype: Pécs, ex Stigmella oxyacanthel la STAINTON (Lepidoptera, Nepticulidae ) 27 September 1974 (food-plant of host : Crataegus oxyacantha ), leg. et educ. L. SZALAY. - 2. lg paratype: Szederkény, ex Phyllonorycter sp. 27 March 1927 (food-plant of host: Quercus rubra ) , leg. et educ. L. SZALAY. - 3. 1 g paratype: Tihany, Malaise-trap, 5 July 1971, leg. L. MÓCZÁR. - 4. 1 d*paratype: Gyula 28 May 1963, leg. SÓLYM0SNÉ. - II. Yugoslavia: 1 cf paratype: Macedonia, Stip, 300 m, river Kriva Lakavica, 8 May 1971, leg. PAPP et HORVATDVICH, No. 6. Holotype and 5 paratypes (3 g,g + 2 drf) are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. Nos 7291 (holotype) and 7292-7296 (paratypes ). Etymology - The species name "prontus" is a phantasy name; gender masculine. The new species, Parahormius prontus sp . n., seems to be closely related to P. radialis TOBIAS^ 1986 (USSR: Moldavia), however, on the basis of its short description within the key (TOBIAS 1986: 64-65) only a few distinctive features are to be established: P. prontus sp. n. P. radialis TOBIAS 1. Upper impression of mesopleuron strio-uneven , precoxal suture either faintly subcrenulate or smooth. 1. Upper impression of mesopleuron and precoxal suture rugose.
