Type material - Holotype g: India, Crissa, Jajpur-Keon jähr district, Daitari, 25 November 1967, leg. TOPAL , No. 956. - 1 ç paratype: India, Karnataka, Belgaum district, Talewadi, 780 m , 26 February 1980, leg. TOPAL, No. 135. Holotype (ç) and 1 o. paratype are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. Nos 7289 (holotype) and 7290 (paratype). Etymology - The species name "vitabilis" or to avoid refers to the host striving to escape from the parasitoids; gender masculine. The new species, Hormius vitabilis sp . n., is nearest to H. longiventris BELOKOBYLSKIJ , 1988 (Taiwan) considering their common features as follows: (1) metasoma at least twice as long as broad, (2) pronotum in dorsal view neck-like (Fig. 33), (3) propodeum weakly sculptured and areolated. The distinctive features of the two species are expounded in a tabular form: H. vitabilis sp. n. 1. Metasoma elongated, 2.4 1. times as long as its greatest breadth. 2. First tergite (Fig. 36) 2. relatively long, somewhat longer than broad at hind. 3. Temple in dorsal view (Fig. 3. 31) more receded behind, eyes more protruding. 4. Pronotum truncate on its 4. anterior margin (Fig. 33). 5. Body 2.5 mm long. 5. H. longiventris BELOK. Metasoma cylindrical, 6.5 times as long as its greatest breadth (Fig. 27 in BELOKOBYLSKIJ 1988a: 12). First tergite long, 2-2.2 times as long as broad at hind (Fig. 27 I.e.). Temple in dorsal view (Fig. 38) less receded behind, eyes less protruding (Fig. 25 I.e.). Pronotum distinctly excised on its anterior margin (Fig. 23 I.e.). Body 3.3 mm long. PARAHORMIUS NIXON, 1940 The genus was created on the basis of ten species originating from the Oriental Region (India, 2 species) as well as from the Ethiopian Region (Republic of South Africa, 8 species), all species were also new to science (NIXON 1940); type species: Parahormius Jason NIXON, 1940 (India). Since the description of the genus further 13 species were discovered which are distributed in every continent except Central and South America (SHENEFELT 1975: 1151-1153); the checklist of the species according to their distribution is presented below: Palaearctic Region albipes (ASHMEAD, 1906) ( Xenobius ) - Japan prontus sp. n. - Hungary and Yugoslavia radialis TOBIAS, 1986 - USSR (Moldavia) Nearctic Region pallidipes (ASHMEAD, 1893) ( Hormius ) - USA (California, Colorado, Wisconsin, North Caroline [and Hawaii] ) secundus (VIERECK, 1905) ( Diachasma ) - USA (Kansas) trilineatus (ASHMEAD, 1889) ( ?Rïïyssalus ) - USA (District of Columbia, New Jersey, Virginia) Ethiopian Region areolaris HEDQVIST, 1965 - Cape Verde Islands caicus NIXON, 1940 - Republic of South Africa cephisus NIXON, 1940 - Republic of South Africa cleomenes NIXON, 1940 - Republic of South Africa epaphus NIXON, 1940 - Republic of South Aftica gylippus NIXON, 1940 - Republic of South Africa iphitus NIXON, 1940 - Republic of South Africa
