ROGADINAE The only Rogadine species was reported from Greece by BRÜLLE in 1832 under the name Rhogas (now Aleiodes) apical is and described by him on the basis of the male as new to science (SHENEFELT 1976). The identity of this species has so far remained obscure because its recognition with help of the original description and from merely the male sex is difficult and ambiguous. Having scrupulously read the description (cited by FAHRINGER 1934, p. 317) I have come to the conclusion that BRULLÉ'S species "Rhogas apicalis" might represent either (and more likely) Aleiodes (Neorhogas) carbonarius GIRAUD, 1857, or (less likely) a dark-legged form of A. (N.) rugulosus (NEES, 1812). All in all, from among the three names one will prove presumably to be a synonym in the future. An examination of the type of Rhogas apicalis BRÜLLE will, however, indispensable decide it upon this issue (BRULLÉ'S insect-collection is deposited in the Paris Museum). In my subsequent enumeration 14 Rogadine species are listed completed with taxonomical-faunistical considerations. Aleiodes (A.) hellenicus sp. n. 9 & is described in the second part. Aleiodes (A.) bicolor (SPINOLA, 1808) (= basalis A. COSTA, 1884)—1 $ : Argolis, Poros, leg. Krüger. 1 Ç : Viotia, Parnassos. 4 çf : Crete, Canea, VII 1906, leg. Biró. 1 çf (var. ater CURTIS, 1834): Lakonia, Taygetos, 1000-1200 m, 12-13 VI 1979, leg. Gozmány et Christensen. 1 çf : Lakonia, 5 km S of Monemvasia, 16 VI 1979, leg. Gozmány et Christensen. 1 9 : same locality, 15 IX 1979, leg. Christensen. Aleiodes (A.) circumscriptus (NEES, 1834)—1 çf : Viotia, Parnassos. 10 9 +39 çf : Lakonia, 5 km S of Monemvasia, 8 V-16 IX 1979 (30 çfçf were captured between 16 V and 7 VI), leg. Gozmány et Christensen. 10 çf : Lakonia, waterfall between Nomia and Lyra, 6 çf : 1 VI and 4 çf : 20 VI 1979, leg. Gozmány. 7 çf : Lakonia, Mts. Aleiodes (A.) coxator (TELENGA, 1941): see p. 221. Aleiodes (A.) crassipes (THOMSON, 1891)—2 çf : Lakonia, Mts. Taygetos, 1000-1200 m, 1 <f : 12-13 VI 1979 MV-lamp, 1 çf ; 11 VI 1980, leg. Gozmány et Christensen.— A rare species; collected sporadically in Sweden, Finland, and recently in Hungary. New to the fauna of Greece. Aleiodes (Neorhogas) dimidiatus (SPINOLA, 1808)—1 d: Argolis, Poros, leg. Krüger. 1 d: Rodopes Mts., Alexandroupolis, 23 V 1977, leg. Zombori. Aleiodes (Neorhogas) ductor (THUNBERG, 1822) (= Rhogas bicolor LUCAS, 1846)—1 9 : Viotia, Parnassos. 1 çf (var. bicolor LUCAS, 1846, sen. syn. = var. atripes A. COSTA, 1884, jun. syn.): Viotia, Parnassos. 1 9 (i n Lund): Fokis, Giona, Oros, 3 km S of Lefkadition, 7 VI 1982, leg. Danielsson. Aleiodes (A.) gasterator (JURINE, 1807)—14 9 + 1 çf : Lakonia, 5 km S of Monemvasia, 13 $ : 24 V-16 VI 1979 and 1 $ +1 d 1 : 16 X 1979, leg. Gozmány et Christensen. 1 Ç +3 d : Lakonia, waterfall between Nomia and Lyra, 1-17 VI 1979, leg. Gozmány. —A species misinterpreted up to 1969. SHENEFELT (1969) has redescribed it on the basis of type-examination. For this species the most important feature is the presence of a rugose sternaulix and, furthermore, mesopleuron more or less punctate, i.e., mesopleuron not smooth as stated by the authors. Supposedly described from South of France ; I have seen authentic specimens from Greece (see localities), Turkey and Hungary. New to the fauna of Greece. Aleiodes (A.) gastritor (THUNBERG, 1822)*—1 $ +4 d (in Lund): Kavala, Pangeon Oros, 3-6 km NW Kipia, 19-20 VI 1982, leg. Danielsson. 1 ? : Lakonia, Monemvasia, 12 V 1979, leg. Gozmány. * The species-name A. gastritor was recently validated by K. van Achterberg imparted in his letter to me in January 1984, and in this respect he is in priority. His results on the taxonomy of the Aleiodes species will be published, presumably, in 1985 or 1986.
