Ancistrogaster luctuosa STÂL, 1855 (Figs. 22 — 23) Ancistrogaster luctuosa STÂL, Oefv. Vet. Akad. Förh., 12: 349. — Holotype male: Naturhistoriska Riksmuseum, Stockholm. Male colour dark brown. Head transverse, eyes large, but a little shorter than the length of head behind eyes. Pronotum slightly longer than broad; lateral margin more or less parallel-sided; posterior margin rounded. Tegmina and wings well developed. Abdomen depressed, and strongly expanded medially; sides of abdominal tergites 4-7 with specific lateral spines. Forceps (Fig. 22) slender, cylindrical; inner margin with prominent tooth basally; apices of branches depressed. Genitalia (Fig. 23, gen. prep. No. 401, det. Dr. H. STEINMANN) of Ancistrogaster-type; central parameral plate broad, virga within genital lobe with characteristic sclerotized curvature basally. External parameters normal, obtuse apically. Female typical of genus, abdomen without lateral spines medially; forceps slender, tapering. Length of body with forceps: male: 16-17 mm, female: 15,5-18 mm. Distribution : from Mexico to Brazil.
