Bakevellia cf. galeazzi (STOPPANI, 1863) (Plate I: 12) *1863 : Gervillia Galeazzi STOPPANI, Couches à Avicula p. 136, pi. 31, fig. 7-9. 1929: Gervilleia Galeazzii STOPPANI —DESIO, Albenza, p. 95, pl. I, fig. 9. 71963: Gervilleia galeazzii (TERQUEM) 1855 [sic!] — BELLONI, M. Torrezzo, p. 414, pl. XXVII, fig. 5. non 1912: Avicula Galeazzi STOPP, sp.? — Frech, Leitfoss. Nachträg. Muschelkalk etc., p. 91, textfig. 26. Material : A single, poorly preserved left valve. — Locality : Borza vár, Rhaetian yellow limestone. Dimensions (mm) : length: 11.0 — height: 7.9 Description : The shell is of small size for the genus; rather strongly inflated. The outline is elongate, oblique, alate. The dorsal (hinge) margin is straight and attains more than the half of the total length. The posterior margin of the shell and the posterior wing forms an evenly convex curve. The ventral margin is separated from the anterior auricle by a slight sinus. The anterior auricle is modioliform. The umbo is almost terminal and emerges well above the hinge margin. A rounded diagonal ridge extends from the umbo to the posteroventral margin; it has a steep flank toward the posterior wing. The shell surface is ornamented with very weak growth lines; radial ornamentation can hardly be observed on this specimen. Remarks : The figures by STOPPANI (I.e.) and DESIO (I.e.) give a very clear picture of this species. On the basis of its outline and habit, the specimen from Borza vár can easily be determined. The almost complete absence of radial riblets is due to bad preservation. BELLONI (I.e.) wrongly attributed B. galeazzi to TERQUEM; moreover, the figured specimen does not correspond well to the species in question. FRECH (I.e.) misinterpreted B. galeazzi: he regarded pl.3L, fig.6. of STOPPANI (I.e.) as typical for this species; however, this figure represents the Pterial falcata (STOPPANI, 1857), as can be seen in the explanation and in the text (STOPPANI. 1860-65, p.135.).
