71870: Nucula subovalis GOLDF. ?— FISCHER-OOSTER, Thun, p. 71, pl. II, fig. 13. 1968: Nucula subovalis GOLDFTJSS, 1838 — SIRNA, Monti di Amelia, p. 763, pi. 53, fig. 1. M a t e r i a 1 : 9 poorly preserved internal casts with shell fragments. — Locality : Borzavár, Rhaetian, yellow and pink marly limestones. D i m e n s i o n s (mm): length: 10.0 7.3 6.9 height: 7.4 5.8 5.5 Description : Small sized, moderately inflated. The outline is oval to subtrigonal, the anterior and posterior margins are almost equally rounded. The umbo is rather high, orthogyrate and lies near to the mid-length. Hinge teeth can not be observed. Remarks : The very characteristic habit, outline and size of this species are well demonstrated in all figures and descriptions of the authors listed in the synonymy. On the basis of these criteria our specimens may easily be identified in spite of the fact that the hinge margin is unknown. Distribution : Rhaetian of South Germany, the "Préalpes", the Southern Alps and the Northern and Central Apennines. Genus PARALLELODON MEEK et WORTHEN, 1866 Parallelodon cf. rudis (STOPPANI, 1865) (Plate I: 2) *1865: Area rudis STOPPANI, Couches à Avicula. .., p. 258, pi. 60. fig. 1. 1870: Area rudis STOPP. — FISCHER-OOSTER, Thun, p. 72, pl. Bakony, (pars), p. 35., 73., pl. IV. fig. 3-5 (non fig. 2) Material : a single, fragmentary internal cast. •— Locality : Borzavár, Rhaetian grey limestones. Description : Small sized (length about 25 mm), strongly inflated specimen. The outline is trapezoidal, elongate; the dorsal margin (hinge) is straight and long. The umbo is prominent prosogyrate and lies in the anterior third of the length. A blunt diagonal ridge runs from the umbo to posteroventral direction; between this and the dorsal margin a concave surface developed giving rise to a posterior wing. The median portion of the flank (between the umbo and the ventral margin) is fiat, almost concave. The ornamentation consists of irregular growth lines. Remarks : The general shape and ornamentation of this species is very characteristic; this makes easy to identify the specimen from Borzavár. P. songavatii (STOPPANT, 1865) and P. hettangiense (TERQUEM, 1855) are similar but they are ornamented with fine, irregular radial ribs; the specimen figured by VÉGH (I.e., pl. IV., fig. 2.) probably belongs to some of these species. P. lycetdi (MOORE, 1861) is perhaps even more similar to P. rudis, but it has 3 to 4 very strong radial ribs on the area behind the diagonal ridge. Distribution : Norian and Rhaetian of the Southern Alps, the "Préalpes", and the Bakony Mts. (Hungary), Norian of the Buda Mts. (Hungary). Genus MODIOLUS LAMARCK, 1799 Modiolus (Modiolus) minutus (GOLDFUSS, 1837) (Plate I: 3-4) * 1837: Mytilus minutus GOLDFUSS, Petref.
