Kamijo, K.: Eulophidae (Hymenoptera) from Korea, with description of two new species

24. VII. 1975 (No. 282) ; 1 çf, Chann-Pay plateau, Mt. Pektusan, Mu-do-bong, 2100-2200 m, 25. VII. 1975 (No. 288); 1 9, Hyesan, Mt. Ze-dong, 1150 m, 26. VII. 1975 (No. 293). Prov. South Phenan: 3 Ç 1 çf, NE environs of Pyongyan, 22. V. 1970 (Nos. 13 and 15); 2 9, Bong-ha-ri on the river Te-dong, 45 km E from Pyongyan, 23. V. 1970 (No. 19). Prov. South Pyongan: 1 9» Pyongyan, Nung-ra do, 14. VIII. 1971 (No. 175); 1 9 1 rf, Pyongyan, Botanical garden, 3. VIII. 1975 (No. 311). This is a very variable species or an aggregate of sibling species (BOUCEK 1965). The above Korean material includes some forms which 1 refer tentatively to P. eubius. One female from Chann-Pay plateau (No. 281) belongs to P. eubis f. planiventris (THOMSON) sensu BOUŐEK, having the antennái funicle longer, the first segment twice as long as pedicel, three times as long as broad; the third segment 1.8 times as long as broad; first segment of club slightly longer than broad; gaster 1.7 times as long as broad; body length 3.0 mm. Two other females (No. 281) and one female from Mt. Ze-dong (No. 293) resemble P. polanensis BOUÖEK in having the lanceolate gaster, which is 2.6 to 3.1 times as long as broad. However, the first tergite is entirely smooth and the last tergite alutaceous; antennái scape longer than first two funicle segments combined (10 : 8.5), pedicel as long as third funicle segment, which is 1.3 to 1.6 times as long as broad; mesoscutum and scutellum with reticulation coarse; propodeum with median carina double throughout; mid and hind tarsi pale, with last segments darker; body length 1.9 mm. At present I prefer to regard these specimens as a form of P. eubius having an elongate gaster. Another female from Chann-Pay plateau (No. 281) has a peculiar antenna: funicle with two segments, which are not separated but solid ; club also solid and very short, as long as first funicle segment (excluding terminal spine). In other respects, this specimen agrees well with P. eubius s. str., hence I consider it as an aberrant specimen. The remaining female specimens belong to P. eubius (WALKER) S. str. or eubius f. alaspharus (WALKER) sensu BOUÖEK. I have seen some males and females from Japan (Hokkaido), which belong to eubius s. str. Distribution: Korea*, Japan*, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Europe. Pediobius sp. A Prov. Ryang-gang: 1 9, Chann-Pay plateau, 24 km NWfrom Sam-zi-yan, road to Mt. Pektusan, 2000 m, 24. VII. 1975 (No. 281). This species resembles P. acantha (WALKER) in having the gaster 1.7 times as long as broad, the scutellum as long as broad, and the funicle thick. But it has the gastral petiole obviously transverse (3 : 4.5); fore wing 2.2 times as long as broad; marginal vein straight and short, its length including parastigma nearly as long as breadth of the wing. Hagellum long, as long as breadth of head; first funicle segment much longer than, and 1.5 times as thick as, pedicel, with conspicuous petiole. Head more strongly transverse, 2.1 times as broad as long (three times as long as medially long); scrobal grooves broadly separated; malar space broad, 0.41 times as long as height of eye. Propodeum rather flat; plicae subparallel, only slightly longer than straight part of carinaceous hind margin, forming an angle of 90° with the latter, hace and frons bluish green; tarsi dark with first two segments of mid and hind tarsi pale beneath. Body length 1.6 mm. Pediobius acantha (WALKER) Entedon acantha WALKER, 1839, Monographia Chalciditum, 1: 107. Prov. Ryang-gang: 1 çf, Chann-Pay plateau, Sam-zi-yan, 1700 m, 24. VII. 1975 (No. 282). Prov. South Pyongan: 2 9, Pyongyan, Nung-ra do, 17. VIII. 1971 (No. 182); 1 9, Nam-po, 19. VII. 1975 (No. 273). The female specimens examined have the gastral petiole very slightly broader than long, but in other respects they agree with P. acantha. Distribution: Korea*, Japan, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Europe. Pediobius sp. B Prov. Ryang-gang: 1 9» Chann-Pay plateau, Sam-zi-yan, 1700 m, 24. VII. 1975 (No. 282). This species seems to be close to P. rotundatus BOYER DE FONSCOLOMBE in having the antenna with two-segmented funicle and three-segmented club, the malar space extremely short, and the 17 Természettudományi Múzeum Évkönyve 1979
