Papp, J.: Two new Biosteres Först. species from the Carpathian Basin (Central Europe) (Hymenoptera, Braconidae: Opiinae)

wing. Cell C«2 relatively broad and short, cu2 only twice longer than height of Cu2 (Fig. 15). n. rec. postfurcal, shorter than d (14 : 18, x40). Abdomen almost as long as head and thorax together. First tergite as long as wide at hind, distinctly broadening posteriorly, smooth and shiny, its hind third with faint to very faint longitudinal striation. Further tergites polished. Ovipositor sheath (in lateral view) as long as middle tibia. Body brownish black, sternites rather brown. Palpi pale yellow. Antenna brownish black, scape and pedicel dark yellow. Clypeus, mandibles, tegula and legs yellow. Wings hyaline, stigma and veins opaque brownish yellow. rf and host unknown. Locality: Trebusa (Rumania: North Transylvania), 1 0 (holotype), leg. UHL (= ÚJHELYI). Holotype deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 2813. Remark — Holotype specimen damaged: its left hind leg entirely, its right tibia and tarsus broken and absent; lower distal third of left fore wing somewhat gluey, ovipositor sheath sticked to abdomen; hind half of abdomen laterally somewhat compressed. The new species resembles Biosteres (Biosteres) brevisulcus (THOMSON, 1895) (North and Central Europe), however, easily differentiated from it by the following features: B. Ientulus sp. n. 1. Body large, 4 mm long. 2. rl short, less than half as long as width of stigma; Cu2 relatively broad and short, cu2 only twice longer than height of Cu2 (Fig. 15). 3. Mandible below at its base dentiform broadening (Fig. 13). 4. Temple (in lateral view) distinctly wider than eye (17 : 11, X63, Fig. 14). B. brevisulcus (THOMS.) 1. Body not large, usually 3 mm long. 2. rl long, usually as long as, and rather exceptionally somewhat shorter than width of stigma; Cw2 relatively narrow and long, cu2 2.5 times longer than height of Cu2 (Fig. 18). 3. Mandible below at its base with a small denticle and less broadening (Fig. 16). 4. Temple less distinctly wider than eye (11 : 10, X63, Fig. 17). References FISCHER, M.
