Papp, L.: New species and records of Sphaeroceridae (Diptera) from the USSR

L. (Rachispoda) excavata sp. n. belongs to a separate species group of the Palaearctic Rachispoda species with L. (R.) micropyga L. PAPP, 1978 (Afghanistan, Band-e Darunta), which can be characterized by the following combination of features: facial protuberance big, no median acmi row, 1 +3 dc pairs, 4 marginal scutellar pairs, discal cell angulate with distinct vein appendage, hind trochanter with hairs only, male epandrium very small. It differs from micropyga L. PAPP by the deeply excavate male pregenital sternite (Fig. 8. cf. Fig. 28 of PAPP 1978), it has strong bristles on apical part of male pregenital sternite, contra rily to micropyga, its mesonotum is simple and not vittate, its scutellum is much shorter, its preapical lateral scutellar pair is more marginal than that of micropyga L. PAPP, and its male genital appendages are of different form. Leptocera (Rachispoda) fuscipennis (HALIDAY, 1833) — 3 çf, 4 $ : JJepbe-Kynb, JI. HH3. Baxma, öeper o3epa, 13., 15., 16.
