I am sure that the type-locality (Galicia) for minor gives enough basis for this decision: the European form is minor BECK., while the species from Mongolia is new. The new species is dedicated to DR. GUY E. SHEWELL (Entomology Research Institute, Canada Dept. of Agriculture, Ottawa), an eminent expert in Diptera, including Lauxaniidae.
