Vojnits, A.: Larentiinae (Lepidoptera, Geometridae) from Mongolia, I

Distribution. Ranging in Mongolia (Mittelgobi aimak, Suchebaator aimak, Uvs aimak. — Locus typicus: Somon Delgercogt, 1480 m (Mittelgobi aimak). Subspecific differences. The typical form of the nominate subspecies of L. coassata HBN. is rather disputed; recently exemplars with a heavy pattern are considered typical, while earlier the unicolorous light ones have been regarded as such. From both of these and from all other described forms, the subspecies ochreata STGR., occurring also in Mongolia, and mongolica ssp. n., differ satisfactorily; the distinctness of the latter is substantiated both by external morphological characters and differences in genital configuration. In view of the fact that the genitalia of the Lithostege species are rather of the same cast, the comparatively slight (but constant!) divergence is convincing. Holotype, çf: "Mongolia: Mittelgobi aimak, 20 km S von Somon Delgercogt, 1480 m, Exp. DR. Z. KASZAB, 1967" "Nr. 916, 13. VII. 1967" "Gen. prep. No 11 209 DR. A. VOJNITS Budapest TTM". — Paratypes: 1.
