Perxylobates obesus sp. n. (Figs. 3-4). Measurements: Length : 402 u, ; breadth : 205 u,. Dorsal side (Fig. 3) : Body stumpy in general from (hence specific name). Rostrum conical, with thin and slightly barbed rostral hairs. Lamellae long and tapering towards their tips. Lamellar setae barbed, removed from lamellar tips, measuring about half as long as their mutual distance. Interlamellar seta, also barbed, twice as long as lamellar seta. Sensillus long, reclinate-arcuate, and provided with minute clia on its outer margin. Dorsosejugal suture absent. Pteromorphae short and movable. Ten pairs of thin, simple notogastral hairs present. Three pairs of circular areae porosae, of which A a being the largest. Anterior part of notogaster provided with a set of faint foveolae. Ventral side (Fig. 4) : Shape of coxisternal region agreeing with that of generic type, ornamented with faint foveolae. Setae of epimere 1 thick and barbed; of which 16 being the longest. Remaining epimeral setae thin, smooth and relatively short. Five pairs of simple genital setae, of which anterior one somewhat longer than rest, 1 pair of aggenital, 2 pairs of anal, and 3 pairs of adanal setae present. All tarsi monodactyle. Material examined — Holotype (79-HO-76) : Under Citrus trees, Horticultural Experimental Station, Alexandria, 20. VI. 1975. Remarks: This species is closely related to P. guechoi MAHUNKA, in litt., recorded from Mauritius. However, it can be separated from the latter by the mea-
