69*. Rhopalum (Latrorhopaliim) sauteri sp. n. çf (Figs. 75-82) This species is very closely related to R. taipinshanum m. occurring in the high montanic regions of Formosa, but is much smaller in body size, with the clypeus and abdomen somewhat different in form and with the hind tibiae more markedly dilated. çf. Length 6.0 mm. Black, with the following portions yellow: antenna! joint 1 except above and inside, humeral tubercle, fore tibia in front, fore tarsus and basal three joints of mid tarsus. Flagellum dark brown, ferruginous beneath, man­dible apieally dark castaneous, tegula, bases of fore and mid femora, rest of fore tibia and apical two joints of mid tarsus ferruginous, end segment of fore tarsus and apex of mid tibia somewhat yellowish ferruginous. Wings hyaline, slightly clouded, stigma and veins dark brown. Hairs on clypeus and interantennal elevation silvery. Head from above with temples fairly strongly roundly convergent posteriorly, width : length = 40 : 23, width at occipital margin relatively 25, ocelli in a triangle slightly lower than equilateral one, medial smaller than the paired, OOD : POD = 6 : 5, ocellar area medially longitudinally finely grooved, frontal impressions distinct, frontal furrow moderately deep. Head seen in front with sockets of antennae con­tiguous to eyes, interantennal elevation narrow, keel-like, clypeus (Fig. 75) com­paratively long, medially at base gently raised, without medial ridge-like elevation apieally, apical margin gently rounded, mandible normal. Antenna comparatively thick, joint 2 deeply excavated at base beneath (Fig 76, in lateral view), there is no excavation nor protuberance on any following joint, but joints 4-7 somewhat bulging out beneath seen from above (Fig. 77), ultimate joint laterally compressed Figs. 75-82.
