This species is common and abundant in Formosa. The female is 12­16 mm in length, mostly 14-15 mm, while the male 7.5-12 mm, mostly 10-11 mm. The difference in body size between the sexes is very marked. 42*. The nominate species including several subspecies is widely distribu­ted over the eastern part of Asia, from India to the Ussuri region and Japan. 44*.
