The Mongolian specimens (5 9 + 2 çf) agree with the description, an easily recognizable species by its yellow stigma (distally with brownish upper and lower margin), very short metacarp, and small field of tergite 2. The male sex similar to female, except: 1. body somewhat smaller, 2.1-2.3 mm long, and 2. hind width of median field of tergite 2 which is equal with distance between posterior corner of this field and lateral margin of abdomen (in female longer). Presumably a widely distributed species in the Palaearctic Region. New to the fauna of Mongolia. Localities. Südgobi aimak: Ostrand von Zöölön ul Gebirge, 58 km WSW von Somon Bajandalaj, 1500 m, 16. Apanteles praepotens (HAL.) — The female specimen listed previously (PAPP 1971b: 323) as A. praepotens represents A. luctificus PAPP (see before).
