Shilenkov, V. G.: Carabidae (Coleoptera) from Mongolia
ANNALES HISTORICO-NATURALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGARICI Tomus 67. Budapest 1975. Carabidae (Coleoptera) from Mongolia* by V. G. SHILENKOV, Leningrad Abstract — Faunistical contributions of 19 Carabid species (Coleoptera) from Mongolia. Some remarks of the species by JEDLICKA. Through the kindness of Dr. Z. KASZAB, I had the opportunity to study a part of the very interesting material on Carabidae, collected in the course of his exjsedition in Mongolia in the years 1963 — 1968. The material examined contains 105 specimens of 19 species, belonging to 9 genera. List of examined species 1. Nebria gyllenhali SCHOENHERR, 1806. — Chövsgöl aimak: 8 km N von •Somon Burenchaan, am Fluss Delger mörön, 1450 m, 20. VII. 1968 (Nr. 989), 1 spec. — Chentij aimak: Somon Chentij, Cherlen gol, 13. VI. 1968 (leg. A. BOLD), 1 spec. 2. Recorded from Mongolia first. Specimens determined by JEDLICKA (1968: 115) as Nebria psammophila SOLS, belongs probably to this species. 3. 4. Nebria nitidula ssp. catenulata FISCHER-WALDHEIM, 1822. — Centralaimak: Ulan-Baator, Nucht im Bogdo ul, 12 km SO vom Zentrum, 1650 m, 3. VI. 1967 (Nr. 761), 9 spec. In spite of opinion of DR. HORVATOVIOH (1973) I think that it is undesirable to change the widely used name Nebria nitidula F. to Nebria catenulata F —-W-, that may be a cause of nomenclature confusion. In addition, I consider Nebria nitidula nitidida F. and Nebria nitidida catenulata F —W. as distinct subspecies, since these two forms have different ranges. 5. Nebria nivalis PAYKULL, 1798. — Central aimak: Ulan-Baator, Zaisan im Bogdo ul, 5 km S vom Zentrum, 1420—1500 m, 18. VI. 1963 (Nr. 5), 3 spec. —Chövsgöl aimak: N vom Somon Chatgal am SW Ecke des Sees Chövsgöl nuur, 1650 m, 18. VIL 1968 (Nr. 1122), 3 spec. I attribute the specimens from Mongolia to the typical form. In any case, they are identical with specimens from Jakutia, Magadan and Tschuktschi peninsula. Specimens determined by JEDLICKA (1964: 325, 1967: 103, 1968: 116) as Nebria microthorax MÖTSCH. belongs to this species. 6. Nebria subdilatata MOTSCHULSKY, 1844. —-Chövsgöl aimak: 8 km N von Somon Burenchaan, am Fluss Delger mörön, 1450 m, 16.
