MURAI, Budapest & F. TENORA, Brno Abstract — Hymenolepis meszarosi sp. n. (Hymenolepididae) is described from Alticola roylei captured in Mongolia. With 6 figures. The present paper is based on a specimen of cestode recovered at an autopsy of 7 rodents representing A. roylei. The rodents were dissected by DR. F. MÉSZÁROS, heknintho­logist of the Department of Zoology, Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, during his stay in Mongolia. The new species is dedicated to the collector. A detailed description, figures, systematical and taxonomical position of the species are given. Hymenolepis meszarosi sp. n. (Figs. 1 — 6) Description of holotype: Body length 20 mm, maximum width 0.250 mm. Scolex 0.128x0.100 mm in diameter, with 4 suckers and a rostellum armed with a crown of hooks. Suckers 0.050 mm in diameter. Hooks of almost fraternal type, 24 in number, 0.012-0.014 mm long. Rostellar sac 0.044x0.034 mm. Male genital organs consisting of 3 testes forming a triangle. One testis poral, the remain­ing two aporal, all three spherical, 0.060 mm in diameter. Bursa cirri very small, 0.039 mm long and only 0.008 mm wide, in poral part of proglottides behind excre­tory canals. In fully mature proglottides, bursa cirri measuring 0.037 x 0.013 mm. Receptaculum seminis in hermaphrodite proglottides very distinct, elongated, Figs. 1—6.
