BOHUS, Budapest Abstract — The description of 6 new taxa is given: Agaricus pilatianus sp. n. and its two forms, A. arvensis var. umbrelloideus' var. n., A. maskae var. imrehii var. n., A. macrosporoides sp. n. — 2 figures. The Xanthodermus-group The European species may be divided into two groups. The species of one group with a stature relatively slender. Stem slender, generally bulbous, may even be marginately bulbous. Smell moderate at most and rather of ink. Spores thin: 3—4—(4.2) p. To this group belong: A. xanthodermus s. str., A. phaeolepidotus, A. placoniyces and its form group. The species of the other group with a stature more or less squat. Stem not slender and not bulbous. Smell mostly intense carbolic (rarely moderate and at A. iodosmus iodoforme like). Spores broader: 4—5p, mostly short ovoid. To this group belong: A. ammophilus, A. p>seudopratensis , A. iodosmus, A. pilatianus. K e y A. Spores relatively large : 7 — 9x5 — 5 -5 u A. ammophilus s. BÉGUET 1967 A. Spores smaller : 5 — 7x3 — 5-3 y B. Spores relatively broad: 4 — 5-3 p, short ovoid (roundish ovate) or ovoid, only rarely ellipsoid C. With a stature like that of A. campester A. pseudopratensis (Bonus) BOHUS C Medium-sized or large species D. Large: pileus in diam. 12 — 20 cm. Pileus brownish grey or almost lead coloured E. Smell weak, iodoforme-like A. iodosmus HEINEM. 1965 E. Smell strong, carbolic A. pilatianus BOHUS f. magnus BOHUS D. Medium-sized: pileus in diam. 6 — 12 cm. Against A. xanthodermus: With a stature more or less squat, stem relatively thick and not bulbous, marginal cystidia not globately ovoid or balloon-shaped, but clavate, smell more or less intense carbolic, unsavoury as food, may be disagreeable with the stomach.
