VIH. 1971 (No. 195). Distribution: Occuring in the Holoarctic Region, in East Asia not rare. Corenocrabro gen. n. Intermediate between the genera Grabro FABR. and Ectemnius DAHLB. Body not particularly elongate, abdomen nearly as long as head and thorax combined (Qçf), tergite 1 as long as wide at apex (Qçf), maxillary palpi 6jointed, labial palpi 4-jointed, mandible at apex bidentate (bifid) in çf, tridentate in C, with a short but distinct tooth on inner margin towards middle (9o*)> antenna 13-jointed in rf, 12-jointed in 9, not modified in either sex, joint 1 ecarinate (Q<rf), but flagellar joints beneath provided with a fringe of long curved hair in çf, vertex with ocelli in a low isosceles triangle, with comparatively large distinct lateral impressions (so-called frontal impressions of frontal marks) well outlined, upper frons not rugoso-striate, without the frontal transverse carina at the verge of upper frons, mesopleuron with a distinct precoxal tooth, the pleuron and mesosternum not covered with long dense hair, propodeum with a smooth, semicircular area dorsalis, distinctly marginated by the crenate furrow, outside the area and posterior wall not coarsely reticulate, pygidial area in 9 flattened triangular, with apex broadly rounded, not excavated and at base medially longitudinally carinate, in çf without the marginated pygidial area, in fore wing ratio of the first abscissa of cubital vein to the second is 3:2, accessory cell distinct, widely open at apex, nervulus antefurcal, fore femur in çf with weak tooth on posterior margin, tibial spurs of middle legs present, but short and indistinct.
