Trypoxylon pappi sp. n. 9 (Figs. 1 — 2) In the general appearance this species ( 9 ) is very similar to T. pennsylvanicum japonense TSUN., but in the present species the convergence of the inner orbits towards the clypeus is much larger, the supraantennal tubercle is not noseshaped and the petiole of the abdomen is much slenderer and longer. It is also similar to T. turkestanicum Guss. ; in this species, however, the interocular distance is as in T. figulus and distinctly different from the present species. T. pappi is characterized by the combination of the following characters : Petiole slender and long, mesonotum distinctly punctured and mat, supraantennal elevation tuberculiform, IOD at the base of clypeus distinctly smaller than that at vertex, clypeus with the median protuberance at the apical margin and the body wholly black. 9 Length 9 mm. Black; mandibles except the extreme base reddish brown, palpi, tegulae and tibial spurs ferruginous, wings hyaline, apically feebly clouded. Head from above with ocelli in a nearly equilateral triangle, the anterior ocellus slightly smaller than the posterior, postocellus nearly as wide as POD and 1.5 times as wide as 00D, frontal furrow broad and shallow, in some light it appears as a glittering line till the antennái base, upper frons on both sides of the furrow gently and roundly raised ; head in front with clypeus medially produced anteriorly
