Sphecidae (Hymenoptera) from Korea* By K. TSUNEKI, Mishima Abstract — 65 species are reported from N. Korea, of which new taxons are : Gorenocrabro ectemiformis gen. n. et sp. n., Diodontus (Gorenius) chosenensis subgen. n. et. sp. n., Trypoxylon pappi sp. n., Ectemnius horvatovichi sp. n., Oxybelus koreanus sp . n., Trypoxylon var ipes nasutum ssp. n., Passaloecus annulatus koreanus ssp. n., Diodontus minutus orientális ssp. n., Ectemnius chrysites chosenensis ssp. n., Grossocerus assimilis collaris ssp. n., Grossocerus podagricus hokusenensis ssp. n., Rhopalum coarctatum koreense ssp. n., Rhopalum nipponicum chosenense ssp. n. — 61 figures. The Korean Spheeidae, except for a few groups, have only fragmentary been studied by O. RADOSZKOVSKY, A. HANDLIRSCH, F. F. KOHL, K. YASUMATSU and myself, and even those that were comparatively well studied were based on insufficient material. When I heard of the collectings of the Hungarian Natural History Museum in North Korea I had an especial interest, because most of the southern localities visited by the members of the Expedition were left out of my research field when I lived in the peninsula. On examining the material I was struck by the abundance of the specimens and the presence of numerous species that had never been known from Korea. In fact, the material comprises 736 specimens, representing 22 genera and 65 species, of which 28 species are new to Korea, including 1 genus, 1 subgenus, 6 species and 8 subspecies new to science. Before proceeding further I wish to thank Dr. J. PAPP, the Chief of the Hymenopterous Section of the Hungarian Natural History Museum and at the same time the main collector of the material, for giving me a chance to study these valuable material (PAPP & HORVATOVICH 1972). In the following list the reference to each species is confined, as a rule, to a few relating to Korea or its nearest territories and having a taxonomic value. 1.
