but ascribed it a doubtful taxonomic value as "Art niederen Ranges". This isapparent not from the label attached to the holotype : K. gracilis Ssp. K. Mannagettae m., but also from his monograph, where it is indicated as a race, and marked it, beside the serial number 27. Koeleria alpigena DOMIN, with an asterisk and under the same serial number. The interpretation of his use of the asterisks is expounded in the introduction (p. 42—43) of his monograph (DOMIN 1907), stating that taxa marked in this way are considered by him as hybrids or races. On this basis, and in accordance with the corresponding rules of nomenclature, I elevated it to specific rank, since it cannot be maintained as a hybrid or a race of some species.
