Sternite 9 with an elongate oval ventral lobe, subgenital plate slender, sagittate, high in lateral view. Paraprocts trifid as usual in the genus ; inner lobes wide, blade-like, outer lobe a slender filament curved inwardly and anteriorly below base of short conical cercus. Middle lobe much developed, extending considerably behind with its large rounded tip. In lateral view, middle lobe of paraproct with a narrow stem and a huge triangular extension at tip ; a small incision in sclerite near anterior edge of this triangle. Outer face with a few long spines ahgned, each of them inserted in a pale dot ; dorsally, a stripe of dense and fine bristles present. 9 (Fig. 5) : Sternite 7 with a dark rounded protrusion on its posterior margin. Subgenital plate very wide, narrowed considerably to tip, hind margin triangular. Only two lateral patches on plate sclerotized, remainder light in colour. Two short but wide vaginal lobes projecting laterally below subgenital plate. Segments 9 and 10, including paraprocts and cerci, not modified. Differential diagnosis. Easily recognized by its considerable size and the very dark appearance. The particular shape of the male paraprocts is unique, none of the species known from Asia resembles A. coreana in this respect. The epiproct bears some resemblance to that of A. monotuberculata (KAWAI) from Japan, which also has a terminal hook ; otherwise, both species differ considerably. The shape of the subgenital plate of the çf seems to be restricted to some groups of species from Eastern Asia (A. sagittata-grou\) and A. decimceta-gvou])). The subgenital plate of the 9 I s aiSO distinctive. Amphinemura steinmanni sp. n. (Figs. 6-11) Holotype -f , paratype 1 9 : Korea, Prov. Kanwon, Diamond Range, Hotel Go-song' 29. V. 1970 (No. 54); 2 $ 9 from the same locality, 1. VI. 1970 (No. 89) (paratypes). Length 8-9 mm; body 4.5-6 mm, fore-wing 5.5-7.5 mm long; expanse 1416 mm. Brown, head with shghtly lighter central area ; wings a little fumose, veins brownish bordered by brown. Prothorax extremely coarsely granulate (even more so than in Nemoura cinerea [RETZIUS]), not shiny. çf (Figs. 6-9): Tergite 9 simple, almost bare, tergite 10 simple. Epiproct in dorsal view short and wide, oval, with sharply pointed tip flanked by two big black chitinous plates in vertical position, appearing as spines in dorsal view, and like huge canine teeth in lateral view. Epiproct much decurved ventrally, gradually enlarged from narrow base to wide tip by increasing height of ventral spinulose keel. Tip ornamented with a fine pointed filament directed anteriorly. Sternite 9 with long and slender ventral lobe, widest at its base. Subgenital plate moderately slender, flat without keel. Paraprocts trifid, inner lobe wide, blade-shaped, approximately as long as subgenital plate. Middle lobe with relatively narrow base, rodhke, bent dorsaUy, tip sharply deflexed anteriorly, bare. Outer lobe rod-like, straight, pointing dorsally, tip w r ith a few spines directed anteriorly. Cerci short and bluntly conical. 9 (Figs. 10-11): A sclerotized semicircular extension occupying one third of posterior margin of sternite 7, a part of the vaginal sclerites eventuaUy visible in it through body wall. Subgenital plate long, extending over half of segment 9, posterior margin variable, triangularly notched or almost straight; a median slit extending to process of sternite 7 or even below it. Vaginal lobes minute, hardly visible at sides of subgenital plat.
