mit einer feinen, ununterbrochenen Borstenreihe bestanden". This statement fails to specify that the row of bristles are differentiated into groups, and the illustration also shows it in a contiguous series. It should be mentioned, however, that the form of the shell is correct also in the original drawing, and of course it is narrower in front than behind, a characteristic incidentally of the genus. Otherwise, the species is distinguished by its dimensions (4 mm!) from the other known species of the genus. Accordingly, both species are to be considered valid. Both Eucypris sarsi, and Erpetocypris obliqua were found in the same locality and on the same date: Type-locality: "Patagonia, Amenkelt (Sumpf) 24, dec. 1899." Collector: Dr. FILIPPO SILVESTRJ. Type-specimens: Eucypris sarsi (43 examplars) ; Erpetocypris obliqua (1 pair of shells, 1 pair of furcae). The collection was preserved in formol and though the material was subsequently transferred into alcohol, the shells are decalcined, becoming in the case of both species resilient. The shells of Eucypris sarsi are, however, still suitable for study, but only the outlines of the shells of Erpetocypris obliqua are observable, of both species are unknown. References: DADAI, J.
