Papp, L. J.: The systematic position of Trachylopella kerteszi Duda and some remarks on the Hungarian species of Trachyopella Duda and Elachisoma Rond. (Diptera: Sphaeroceridae)

long dorsal bristle than distance of this latter one from end of tibia. Second costal section as related to third section slightly longer than in preceding species (eoprina DTJDA) Identification key to the Hungarian species of Elachisoma RONDANI, 1880 1 (2) Second longitudinal vein ( = r 2 + 3 ) terminating aligned with anterior cross-vein in vein c. Vein section Ms 3 ( —t a —t p ) only about one-third as long as posterior crossvein, hence the cross-veins appear almost as a single vein (lower one almost a continuation of upper one). Posterior tibia though with moderately long bristles, these are invariably and visibly shorter than tibial width at this place. Sixth longitudinal (anal) vein geniculate aterrima HAL. 2 (1) Second longitudinal vein terminating far exteriorly from level of anterior cross-vein. Vein section Ms 3 ( = t a —t p ) longer than or at least as long as posterior cross-vein. Besides short bristles, posterior tibia always with some bristles at least as long as tibial width at their point of origin. Anal vein otherwise construed. 3 (4) Wings colourless, c-bristles stronger. Third longitudinal vein reaching costa nearer to apex—in 2/3 of the section between upper apex of discoidal cell and apex of wing —its termination subtending an acute angle with costa. Sixth longitudinal vein (anal vein) bifurcating: its upper branch (towards fifth longitudinal vein) thick and very short, its lower branch thin, bending arcuately towards alar apex, nearly reaching margin of wing pilosa DTJDA 4 (3) Wings greyish, c-bristles weaker. Third longitudinal vein reaching costa further from apex of wing —in 1/2 of section between upper apex of discoidal cell and apex of wing —terminating almost perpendicularly in it. Sixth longitudinal vein rudimentary, hardly discernible, consisting of two disunited sections kertészi DUDA Finally, I should like to express my thanks to Dr. H.
